| General Rules |
| 1. | The International German Championship will be governed by: |
| - RRS 2001-2004, including latest changes | |
| - “Ordnungsvorschriften Regattasegeln“ des DSV (German MNA), latest edition | |
| - Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions | |
| - Class rules | |
| 2. | Valid measurement forms or convinced copies must be with the boats ( add. to Rule 78, RRS) All participating boats must be in accordance to App. G, RRS. |
| 3. | Additions to the RRS: |
a) |
In addition to Rule 46, RRS all helmsmen must have the qualification certificate, necessary in their home-country to sail on a lake, like Lake Constance. |
b) |
Competitors must comply with the ISAF eligibility code (RRS, App. 2) |

Exclusion of liability - limitation of liability - cognovits clause. The responsibility for the decision of a coxswain to participate in a race or to continue with it is solely with him; to that extent he also takes the responsibility for his crew. The coxswain is responsible for the qualification and the correct nautical conduct of his crew as well as for the suitability and the transport-safe condition of the registered boat. In cases of Force Majeure or on grounds of administrative orders or for safety reasons, the organizer is entitled to make changes in the realisation of the event or to cancel the event. In these cases there does not exist any liability for compensation of the organizer to the participant. In case of a violation of obligations that do not constitute primary respectively material contractual duties (cardinal obligations), the liability of the organizer, no matter because of which cause in law, for material and property damages of all kinds and their consequences that arise to the participant during or in connection with the participation in the event resulting from a conduct of the organizer, his representatives, servants or agents, is restricted to damages that were caused wilfully or grossly negligent. When a violation of cardinal obligations occurs, in cases of simple negligence the liability of the organizer is limited to foreseeable, typically occurring damages. To the extent that the liability for damages of the organizer is excluded or restricted, the participant also relieves the staff - employees and representatives, agents, servants, sponsors and individuals who provide or drive salvage, safety or rescue vessels or assist with their use - from the individual liability for damages, as well as also all other individuals who were instructed to act in connection with the realisation of the event. The effective racing rules of the ISAF, the administrative regulations regatta-sailing and the articles of association of the DSV, the class rules as well as the regulations of the invitation to the competition and the sailing instructions are to be complied with and are expressly recognised. German law shall prevail. (In conflict of meanings and language, the German text on the entry form will apply) |

All competitors must have life-jackets, if possible in colours yellow or orange, on board during all the races. For the Contenderclass the Contender Class-Rules are valid! (Fig. 18.1) |
e) |
In addition to the safety equipment required in the respective class rules, every boat shall carry on board a floating rope of sufficient strength to tow several boats and of at least 15m in length. |
f) |
Race Committee has the right to change the schedule and the programm. Those changes shall be displayed on the official board not later than 19.00 hrs. They are valid for the following day(s). |
g) |
Every paticipating boat (also coach-boats) must have a valid liabilty-insurance. On demand proof must given to the organizing authority. |

| 7. | Scoring: |
| The low point system acc. RRS App. A. Discards following MO 10 of the German MNA (This is: if 5 or 6 races are sailed: one discard, less than 5 races: no discard) The boat with the lowest number of points in each class will be German Champion (no meaning of nationality). | |
| 8. | Prizes: |
| Prizes for the winning teams are given from the Germen MNA,
just as ranks 2 and 3. Documents as well for ranks 1 to 6. Other prizes are given by the hosting clubs. The winning teams have the title “ German Champion of the Vaurien-Class 2004” “ German Champion of the Contender-Class 2004” |

| 9. | Sailing instructions: |
| Eyery competitor may get the sailing instructions in the
raceoffice, Marina Ulramarin, starting on May 19th , 15.00 hrs. It is intended to display the SI beforehand on the websites www.idm-contender.org , www.idm-vaurien.org. In conflicts of language and meanings, the German text will apply. |

| 10. | Accomodation: |
| Wishes may be sent to the entry address or to the authorities of the cities of Langenargen or Kressbronn. Further possibilities will be displayed on the above mentioned websites. There will be the possibility to stay with tents or campers inside the marina or a campingsite in the very neighbourhood. | |
